The Cavendish
When I first saw The Cavendish, a modern European restaurant I was pleasantly surprised. There was a beautifully decorated christmas tree, an abundance of fairy lights around and inviting door features. When I stepped in there was a member of staff to greet and take me to my table, as I ventured upstairs there was a beautiful bay window with two well-chosen paintings either side. The waiter then talked me through the menu and gave me some background on the ingredients and where they originated from, which helped me when it came to my choices. I went for Burrata, Heritage Tomato and Parma Ham for the starter, it was very tasty and I loved the texture of the Burrata, it went really well with the other ingredients. For the main I tasted the fillet steak with watercress and béarnaise sauce and triple cooked fries. The chips were so cripsy but still fluffy inside with a hint of salt. The steak was succulent, cooked to perfection, medium rare just the way I like it. I can now say that having béarnaise sauce at The Cavendish has made me fall in love with it again. |
